CREEDMOOR — In 2021, the city of Creedmoor will be opening the new Creedmoor Community Center, a signature facility that along with the Cross City Trail and improvements to Lake Rogers Park represent a substantial investment toward meeting the recreational needs of Creedmoor and residents of southern Granville County.
As part of a broad effort to identify the optimal use of these community assets, while ensuring equity and community impact, the city’s Recreation Department is hosting focus groups to discuss programming and operational details of these facilities.
The focus groups will occur between Tuesday, Feb. 2, and Saturday, Feb. 13, inclusive of weekends and evenings based on participant interest. Focus groups will be held primarily through Zoom, but accommodations will be made for those wishing to provide their feedback face-to-face.
“Staff are excited to see the facility so close to completion, however, COVID-19 is impacting our plans as it has for so many,” Recreation Director Christopher Horrigan said. “We are making the best of it by taking this opportunity to evaluate our community’s recreational wants and needs, and working to ensure all voices are heard.”
Selected participants will be notified of the date and time of their focus group on or before Tuesday, Jan. 26.
