The City of Boulder will be conducting outreach to local nonprofits about a potential November ballot measure.
Feedback provided will help inform how the measure appears on the November ballot.
The item being explored is an up to 15-year extension of the 0.30% Capital Resilience and Safety Tax currently known as the Community, Culture and Safety Tax (CCS). Boulder’s CCS is a voter-approved temporary tax that funds capital improvements and matches funds for several community nonprofits. It was originally approved in 2014 and extended in 2017 for four years.
Revenue from the tax has funded nonprofit projects throughout the city, including renovations to the Museum of Boulder and the Dairy Center, improvements to Growing Gardens and a new facility for Meals on Wheels. It has also funded more than 100 city infrastructure projects.
Focus group sessions, designed to gather input from nonprofits on potential funding, will take place on the following dates in July:
- Wednesday, July 7 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
- Monday, July 12 from 3:30 – 5 p.m.
- Thursday, July 15 from 12 – 1:30 p.m.
Nonprofits are invited to sign-up for more information about focus groups and to attend a session here.
