While market conditions matter, Strother said Georgia-Pacific also believes having all Dixie cup manufacturing under one roof in Lexington, Kentucky, will allow it to stay competitive. Once the Forks plant closes, all Dixie cups, including premium hot cups, recycled fiber cups and bath cups, will be made at the 550,000-square-foot Lexington facility that employs 230 people.
