At approximately 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021, APD received a 9-1-1 call reporting an aggravated robbery at the Texaco Austin located at 8630 Research Boulevard on the southbound service road. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a store employee who stated that the suspect, pictured and described below, entered the store and displayed a handgun while demanding money in Spanish. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. He was last spotted running westbound on Research Boulevard toward the 183 frontage road. The store employee was physically unharmed.
The suspect is described as:
- Hispanic male
- Spoke Spanish throughout the incident
- Described as being short
- Last seen wearing rolled up jeans, a BOSS-brand camouflage hat, black Adidas-brand shirt with long sleeves pulled up to elbows and a white bandana over the lower half of his face
