Our Valley Our Future is aiming to start the process of collecting community input in March to apply to the organization’s next five year plan.
“Depending on where we’re at with the pandemic, some of the outreach, at least initially will be electronic,” said Steve Maher, coordinator.
OVOF will also use input from focus groups comprising of business and community leaders before branching out to community members at large. According to Maher, the focus group process is likely to start at the end of January or early February.
“Everything we do is based on what folks tell us,” said Maher. “We can’t do things without this input. And the community can’t move forward without that input.”
OVOF announced toward the end of 2020 that the organization was gearing up to craft its 5 year plan for the community with plans to conduct public outreach at the start of 2021.
“People who may not be in an elected official or community leader position, many of them have amazing ideas of things that could be done because they’re living through a lot of the challenges we face,” said Maher.
