Dublin will play host to the 68th ESOMAR world marketing research congress in the Convention Centre from this Sunday. Over 1,000 delegates from 70 countries are expected to show up for the event which runs until next Wednesday. The programme includes presentations by global research agencies, including Nielsen, GfK, Ipsos and TNS.

Major research buyers such as Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Heineken, Unilever, Facebook, The Dannon Company, Microsoft, AOL, GE Capital, Swarovski and Saatchi & Saatchi will be in attendance. Programme highlights include future revelations presentations by Unilever and LinkedIn and case studies on understanding female consumers.

There is a talk on how behavioural science helped Three Mobile build its brand. Other topics to be discussed include researching the new shopper experience, blasting 10 big data myths with 10 panel data experiences, 20 predictions for 2020, the theory of the crime, media and the role of screens, media and the power of content and culture of four cities.

Speakers include British adventurer Sir Ranulph Fiennes and gay icon Panti Bliss.

MCCP’s Guy Perrem, left, and Shane Doyle, along with Sheila Cunningham, head of insights at Heineken Ireland, will present a talk on Wednesday called ‘Unearthing the Cultural Fabric of Irish Cities’.
