ARLINGTON, MA — The search for Arlington’s next superintendent is beginning in the form of focus groups, which will develop a profile of the district and community for the search committee to use when seeking out potential candidates. The district anticipates advertising the position in September, with the goal of selecting a candidate by the end of the year.
The first of three focus groups for Arlington residents was held July 20. The next will take place Wednesday, July 22 at 4 p.m., followed by a third on Monday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m.
A focus group for recent Arlington High School alumni met July 20. Town Meeting members will participate in a focus group Wednesday, July 22 at 8 p.m.
The Arlington Special Education Parents Advisory Council (SEPAC) has been invited to host a focus group. Plans are also being made to conduct a focus group with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
Schedules and Zoom links for all focus groups are posted at www.arlingtonsuper.com. In addition,
residents and stakeholders who wish to voice their opinion can participate in a brief (10 minute) survey.
The survey provides opportunities to rank attributes desired for a new superintendent, and offer opportunities for open responses. A link to the survey can be found at www.arlingtonsuper.com, and can be accessed directly at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r…
