STRONGSVILLE, OH — Strongsville Schools officials will discuss reopening plans during two upcoming online events.
Superintendent Cameron Ryba will host a pair of “Community Conversations” about reopening on July 21 and Aug. 4.
During the July 21 session, Ryba will offer a final recommendation on how to begin the school year and will recommend a date for the first day of school. Then, on Aug. 4, the district’s comprehensive 2020-2021 plan will be shared with the community.
It is not yet clear if there will be a question and answer session following either presentation.
Both events will be live streamed, a district official told Patch, and can be found on the district’s website after the initial broadcast.
A district spokesperson said work groups have been discussing reopening plans for several months. The groups have been discussing how to reopen both from an educational and facilities perspective.
“All of our work groups include administrators, teachers, staff, and parents. Each person involved with the work groups has also been asked to create their own group of 10 people (“family and friends focus group”) to gather weekly feedback, based on discussions and decisions for the work groups,” the spokesperson said.
