BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – In response to growing need, a group of Oregon Community Foundation donors has supported the creation of the Boost Up Bend Fund to help local small businesses in Bend defray costs related to reopening their doors.

Businesses with under 15 full-time equivalent employees may apply for up to $2,500 in funding, and sole proprietors may apply for up to $1,500.

Businesses must be geographically located within Bend, and attention will be given to businesses owned or managed by people who identify as women and/or people of color.

Grants may be used for a wide variety of expenses related to reopening, including personal protection equipment and sanitization requirements, physical changes to space or additional employees in order to meet state guidelines for their sector, and/or goods and food to service employees or customers.

The fund currently holds $40,000, and is accepting additional tax-deductible donations from the community. Click here to donate to the fund.

Businesses may apply online starting on May 11, with the applications closing at end of day on May 19.  Applicants will be notified of awards within days, with fund disbursement by May 27.

Visit www.bendchamber.org/boost-grants for more information, and to apply.

Donors may also visit the above link to make a tax-deductible donation online, or arrange for other payment methods to add to the fund.
