RICHMOND, Ky. – Former Eastern Kentucky University’s men’s basketball player Mike DiNunno has signed to play professionally in Bulgaria.
DiNunno will play for BC Beroe in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. BC Beroe is a member of the Bulgarian National Basketball League (NBL), the nation’s highest professional level.
As a senior at EKU last season, DiNunno was chosen first team NABC Division I All-District 19 and first team All-Ohio Valley Conference. The Chicago native led the team in 3-pointers, assists and steals. He finished second in scoring at 14.8 points per game. He was among the OVC leaders in steals (3rd), assists-to-turnover ratio (3rd), free throw percentage (4th), assists (5th), 3-pointers made (5th), three-point field goal percentage (8th) and scoring (10th).
The 2013-14 Colonels return to action on Saturday at North Carolina State. The game can be seen on ESPN3 beginning at 8 p.m.
