National Health Investors (NHI) Q4 FFO Match Estimates – February 19, 2020

National Health Investors (NHI) came out with quarterly funds from operations (FFO) of $1.41 per share, in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate. This compares to FFO of $1.35 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

A quarter ago, it was expected that this health care real estate investment trust would post FFO of $1.39 per share when it actually produced FFO of $1.42, delivering a surprise of 2.16%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus FFO estimates just once.

National Health Investors, which belongs to the Zacks REIT and Equity Trust – Other industry, posted revenues of $82.19 million for the quarter ended December 2019, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 1.37%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $74 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates four times over the last four quarters.

The sustainability of the stock’s immediate price movement based on the recently-released numbers and future FFO expectations will mostly depend on management’s commentary on the earnings call.

National Health Investors shares have added about 9.1% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500’s gain of 4.3%.
