BEDFORD, MA — The search for Bedford Public Schools’ new superintendent is coming down to the wire as just three focus group meetings remain. The district has been looking for a superintendent since Superintendent Jon Sills announced his retirement in November.
The Bedford School Committee has contracted with the Massachusetts Association of School Committees to help with the search. The soonest focus group meeting is Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Bedford Community. After that the last two focus group meetings fall on the same day in February at different times.
- Feb. 5: 2:15 pm – Davis and Lane Faculty and Staff – Davis School Library
- Feb. 5: 6:45 pm – METCO parents- ABCD Bldg. 714 Parker St, Boston
The district is also offering the community a survey regarding Bedford’s future superintendent.
Sills had worked in the Bedford school district for 20 years, serving as the district superintendent for the last seven years. Before taking over as the district’s leader Sills served as principal of Bedford High School from 2000-2012.
Before his time in Bedford, he was the program administrator for social studies at Brookline High School for nine years.
