Analyst house Gartner, Inc. recently announced the winners of its new 2019 Peer Insights Voice of the Customer: Enterprise Integration Platform as a Service. The report marks the latest addition to the researcher’s expansive list of buyer-centric resources, which already includes its popular Magic Quadrant and Critical Capabilities. Gartner Peer Insights provides first-hand reviews of software and services contributed by enterprise users. The new report is an extension of Gartner’s Customer Choice Awards released last year.
Peer Insights Voice of the Customer does not include an expansive vendor listing or proprietary graphic to help organizations select the best tools. Rather, it provides reviews that go through a strict validation process to ensure they are authentic. Gartner Peer Insights are meant to be a complement to its expert-led research reports. At Solutions Review, we read the report, available here, and pulled out the key takeaways.
Jitterbit scored a perfect overall rating of 5.0
Though Jitterbit tallied just 14 overall reviews, it’s the first time we can remember a perfect 5.0 rating go to a vendor in this category. 100 percent of the reference customers would recommend the Jitterbit platform to their peers, with MuleSoft, Informatica, and Boomi among the top-three vendors that reviewers also considered. Jitterbit’s 14 reviews represent the third-lowest total of any provider listed. Gartner notes: “The table is sorted by number of reviews because ultimately, the more reviews a vendor receives, the more likely it is that you can trust a summary rating.”
The Jitterbit Harmony platform provides connectivity to cloud and on-prem environments. The vendor’s API transformation capabilities are expansive, and allow organizations to create, run, secure, and manage APIs and microservices using the cloud. APIs can also be infused with artificial intelligence.
Informatica leads in overall adoption and market share
Informatica leads the E-iPaaS marketplace in adoption according to this snapshot. With 58 overall reviews, the data management mega-vendor recorded nearly 20 percent more than its next-closest competitor (Boomi). However, the company’s overall score was third-lowest at 4.4, and only 74 percent of Informatica reference customers showed a willingness to recommend the product. Informatica also lagged behind the competition for evaluating and contracting, integration and deployment, and service and support, scoring below average in each category.
Reviewers that ultimately chose Informatica also considered other major iPaaS players like Microsoft, Boomi, IBM, and MuleSoft.
Workato and MuleSoft are tops for Integration and Deployment
Workato (4.8 score) and MuleSoft (4.8 score) are both top-three providers for integration and deployment, joining Jitterbit’s near-perfect score of 4.9. Workato was able to secure 25 overall reviews while MuleSoft recorded just 13. Workato customers are overwhelmingly represented in the manufacturing industry, with nearly three-quarters located in North America. MuleSoft also has a major presence in manufacturing, though its reference customers also hail from the finance and communications verticals as well.
