Street Talk understands local research boss Jason Steed has been anointed chief Asia Pacific equity strategist for the American bank, in addition to his existing responsibilities.
The expanded role will see Steed work with JPMorgan’s equity research teams in the APAC region to help build out the bank’s research offering.
The announcement was made internally on Friday by JPMorgan head of global equity research Noelle Grainger and the bank’s global head of quantitative and derivatives strategy Marko Kolanovic.
“Jason will lead the marketing and branding of the team’s Asia equity strategy views with our key stakeholders including internal partners in sales & marketing, trading, banking, institutional investors, corporate clients and the media,” the announcement said.
News of the expanded role comes the same week JPMorgan real estate analyst Ben Brayshaw departed the American Bank’s equity research team to join Barrenjoey, alongside senior investment banker Anthony Brasher.
