Oklahomans rejected a state question that would have changed the amount of money from tobacco companies’ annual settlement payments that the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust receives.Currently, TSET gets 75% of the funds and interest on investments in its endowment while the state legislature gets 25%. State Question 814 would reverse those percentages – sending 75% to the legislature and 25% to TSET.Money sent to the legislature must be used to help pay for Medicaid expansion. SQ 814 wouldn’t touch TSET’s endowment, just future earnings and contributions to it.APP USERS: Can’t see the results? Click here!
