Funding News

  • Get ready to place your to-go order at your favorite local spot. Atlanta-based Popmenu closed a $17 million Series B round with Bedrock Capital. You can read more about their online menu and digital marketing platform here.
  • Atlanta-based cove.tool, which helps architects build more sustainable and cost effectively, raised $5.7 million in Series A funding. More here.
  • Another Atlanta fintech company secured Series A funding this week. Learn more about how polygon.io raised $6 million to bring real-time financial data into one easy-to-use API.

 

New Moves Across the Southeast

Raise a glass…Wilmington-based Next Glass has announced it is acquiring Oznr, an Atlanta-based app designed for “hardcore beer nerds.” Oznr joins other brands under Next Glass, including Untapped and BeerAdvocate.

 

Ohio-based LOUD Capital announced it’s opening an office in Raleigh. According to a statement from LOUD’s Marshall Kuremsky, the firm will bring “LOUD’s international presence to the area to bring capital and guidance to those entrepreneurs in the Research Triangle, the Carolinas, and beyond whose projects show promise to help shape and change the world.”

 

Raleigh-based hospitality technology company Allbridge announced this week it will merge with Ipanema Solutions. Ipanema is known as a technology platform for new hotel buildings. 

 

Agro Merchants Group, whose North American operations are run out of Alpharetta, will be acquired by Americold Realty Trust in a $1.74 million deal. Agro Merchants Group is known as the fourth largest temperature-controlled warehouse company in the world.

 

Brentwood, Tennessee’s IVX Health announced it will acquire Nashville-based Precision Healthcare, which operates 12 infusion centers across Tennessee and northern Arkansas.

 

Wilmington, North Carolina-based LogicBay, which creates cloud-based partner relationship management solutions for manufacturers like Caterpillar and Daimler Trucks North America, has been acquired by Canadian firm Pluribus Technologies Inc..
