Baylor University Launches College Vault Merchandise Collection with Popular Sailor Bear Logo

Waco, TX (October 14, 2020) – Just in time for the events and tradition of Homecoming, Baylor University, working in conjunction with its trademark licensing agent, CLC, is launching its new College Vault merchandise collection and reintroducing the popular Sailor Bear mark at retail.
 
The College Vault vintage-inspired merchandise program pays homage to Baylor’s historical trademarks and traditions through fashion-forward apparel and non-apparel product. While the 1950s era Sailor Bear logo has not been widely available at retail in recent years, the Baylor College Vault collection provides the perfect avenue for bringing the high-demand logo back to the marketplace.
 
“We are truly excited about Sailor Bear’s strategic return to the marketplace,” said Jason Cook, Baylor’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications and Chief Marketing Officer. “With the introduction of the new Baylor United brand architecture in 2019, it was important for the University to appropriately balance the new marks vs. a tremendously popular, historic mark in Sailor Bear. CLC’s College Vault is a proven national program that allows us to promote and protect Baylor’s cherished logos in the marketplace.”
 
“Our loyal fans have a strong appreciation for the Sailor Bear logo, and we are excited to offer this historic mark as part of our new College Vault collection,” added Mack B. Rhoades, IV, Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. “The Baylor College Vault program provides the special opportunity to deliver unique designs to our fans in a high-quality product collection, while also protecting the historic logos that are a part of our University history.”
 
The initial product collection will include apparel and non-apparel products from best-in-class licensees such as ’47, Blue 84, Champion, Kyle Cavan, Nike, Peter Millar, and Tervis.
 
“We are excited to work with Baylor’s trademark licensing team and this group of dedicated licensees to deliver unique, on-trend merchandise to Bears fans,” said Nicole Armentrout, CLC’s VP of Marketing. “The College Vault collection was established to give Baylor a platform to merchandise its historic logos, which have deep meaning for the fans, and help tell the story of the University and its successful athletic program.”
 
Baylor’s College Vault Collection, including Sailor Bear merchandise, will be available beginning October 17, at the Baylor Bookstore and the Baylor Team Store at shop.baylorbears.com.
