BALTIMORE, Md. — Former Morgan State basketball forward DeWayne Jackson continues to experience success overseas playing the game he loves. And he recently has signed a deal in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with Sharjah Club, according to Eurobasket News Center.

The 6-foot-8, 29-year old is joining the team in the Middle East after a year between Lebanon and Kosovo.

Jackson played most recently at Sigal Prishtina in Kosovan Superliga. In three games he averaged 11.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, and 1.7 apg last season. He also played for Homenetmen (LBL) in Lebanese league where in four games he had very impressive stats: 16.3 ppg, 6.8 rpg, and 3.0 apg.

Jackson went undrafted after a four-year career at Morgan State but has managed to bounce around overseas. His professional career has brought him to three different continents (Europe, Asia, and of course North America).

Jackson has also played previously in Bulgaria (Beroe), Lebanon (Sagesse and Champville), and The Basketball Tournament (HBC Sicklerville).

Among many awards, Jackson received Eurobasket.com All-Bulgarian League Defensive Player of the Year Award back in 2015.

He attended Morgan State until 2013 and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball.

Jackson’s game is described as:

Jackson is one of the fastest, strongest, and best ball handling wings in Europe. He has high stats in every category, and with his height, cannot be guarded 1-on-1 on the perimeter. He is also able to shoot from 3 consistently, and can defend at any position. Very similar style of game with Kevin Durant.

The 2013 All-MEAC First Team selection helped lead Morgan State to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament title game, it marked the Bears’ fifth appearance in seven years. He ranked 7th in the MEAC in scoring (13.8), led the team in steals (1.7 spg), and averaged 5.6 rebounds per game.

The Bowie product completed the regular season by scoring in double-figures 27 times in 30 games played, including a season-high 32 points against the Virginia Cavaliers. As a senior, he was also a member of the MEAC All-Tournament team and was selected the BoxToRow All-American second team.

Jackson, who was the 2010 MEAC Rookie of the Year, has the distinction of being the only player in school history to have the combination of over 1,500 points (1,596 — No. 5), 500 rebounds (562 — No. 12), 150 steals (173 — No. 2) and 150 assists (186).
