The Research Center for Taiwan Economic Development conducted a survey which showed that Taiwan saw a decline in the consumer confidence in the current month of March.
A report of the survey that was released earlier in the week showed that the CCI, Consumer Confidence Index, has stayed in the negative range in the month as it declined 5.42 points to reach 78.51 points since a month earlier in February.
A figure that is between 100 and 200 points shows optimism while a figure under 100 shows pessimism.
The CCI is made up of 6 sub indexes that show the investments in the stock market, employment chances, consumer prices, durable products purchases, household economic conditions and the domestic economic outlook for the upcoming six months.
The entire 6 sub indexes declined in the month, the stock market investment sub index suffered the worst decline of 11.8 points compared to a month earlier to set at 53.7, the employment chances sub index lost 1.4 points to set at 85.25 points.
